Join the EAWCP at the Room for Friends Book Event on Saturday, October, 4th at the Jewish Community Center, 2000 Hollywood Dr, York, PA 17403 from 10:30am-1:00pm. This event is for elementary age children with epilepsy (age 5-12) and their parents/guardians (siblings are also welcome).
Room for Friends: A Story to Empower Kids with Epilepsy is a children's book written by Susie Harder in partnership with Valley Children's Epilepsy Support Program. The book is aimed at empowering children with epilepsy and fostering understanding of epilepsy in classrooms. This fun new book invites children with epilepsy to step into the story as the main character, guiding their classmates through an escape room-themed adventure. The book includes personalized sections, allowing kids to share their own words and experiences throughout the storyline—because each child with epilepsy deserves the opportunity to share their story with confidence.
Lunch will be provided and each child with epilepsy that attends will receive a free copy of the book. Register by Monday, September 29.
